Can't see notification about new message in the Groups folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • In my Outlook 2016 I have Folder pane on the left. And there I have Groups folder, as I understood there are not emails under it, but some kind of Conversation objects. So in this folder I receive messages from Sharepoint / Office 365 groups and communities.

But for some reason Outlook doesn't show me notification at taskbar about new message. So I have to check for new messagess in the Groups folder manually and it is very uncomfortable and inefficient.

Tell me please how to fix it. Thank you.

  • Hi ayulit,

Based on my test and research, I am afraid this is by default that new messages sent to the Groups folder won't trigger a new mail alert.

As a workaround, we may drag the folders under Groups that we need to monitor to the Favorites section at the top of the Mail Navigation (CTRL+1):

So that it can be easier to check the new messages in the Groups folder.

Hope you can find this helpful.

    Best regards,
    Yuki Sun
