Migrating DPM Server backup data to another DPM server RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are consolidating our infrastructure and no longer have <g class="gr_ gr_36 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="36" id="36">need</g> for 2 DPM servers.  Will DPM be able to restore data that was backed up by another DPM server to a client?  If not, is there a way to import backup data from one DPM server into a second DPM server?

  • Hello Damian!

So you are currently using two (2) DPM servers, a primary and a secondary. How have you set up the protection on these DPM servers?

    For example:

    • Is the secondary DPM backing up the primary DPM?

Normally you have two (2) DPM servers, in other words a secondary DPM server for redundancy, so removing one of the DPM servers should not cause any harm, although the redundancy will be lost.

    Best regards,
    Leon
