SCOM Test Server - Evaluation Ends RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Team,

We have installed SCOM in the test server for which evaluation period has been expired. How do I continue to use SCOM without License being as we don't have Non-Prod license.

  • Hi,

The SCOM evaluation is 180 days, after that it will expire and you won't be able to use it unless you activate it. Every SCOM environment needs to be licensed in order to use it, even if it's a lab/test environment.

You can set the license by using the Set-SCOMLicense PowerShell cmdlet (in an elevated PowerShell).

    Best regards,

  • That should work as long as you also recreate the database.

But you can simply use the same license key as your prod environment : SCOM licensing is per monitored agents, the server itself isn't really concerned by the license.

  • I'd also suggest to use the same license you have for prod. SCOM servers don't really need any license.

    Cheers
