Five Different Services "Stop Unexpectedly" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system on a Domain network.  The following services all stop unexpectedly at the same time:

    Windows audio service
    DHCP client service
    Windows event log service
    TCP/IP netbios helper service
    Security center service

I found a Hotfix at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2499016 and applied it.  After I reboot and about 1 hour later the same services stop again.  New system all Windows updates and updated drivers applied.  I can not find any issue which causes the services to stop.  (I have seen other posts with no relevant fix other than the previously mentioned Hotfix).

    I have disabled IPv6.

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

    Jeff

Answers

  • Hi,

Could you please tell more details for your domain environment?

In addition, here are some information regarding windows system services:

    Windows Audio service depends on:

    Multimedia Class Scheduler

    Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

    DCOM Server Process Launcher

    RPC Endpoint Mapper

    Windows Audio Endpoint Builder

    Plug and Play

    DHCP Client service depends on:

Net I/O Legacy TDI Support Drive

    TCP/IP Protocol Driver

    Network Store Interface Service

    NSI proxy service driver

TCP/IP netbios helper service depends on:

    Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock

    NetBT

    NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver

    TCP/IP Protocol Driver

    Security center service depends on:

    Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

    DCOM Server Process Launcher

    RPC Endpoint Mapper

    Windows Management Instrumentation

    Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock

Please take a look at those related components, and please take a look in Event Viewer to see if there are any errors logged(I know the Windows event log service is stopped, hopefully there could be some logs to track with).

  • Have you had any solution to this?  I am having the same issue on 5 PC's all identical to your issue.

    Win 7 Pro 64

ASUS PH861-I R 2.0 MB Current Drivers / All updates.

Seems to happen in the afternoon usually 30 minutes to an hour apart.
