Project Server 2010 Upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have Project Server 2010 SP2 environment setup and its time to upgrade the current version of MSPS in our organization.

Should we move to 2016 ?or its too early to be there and 2013 is stable one.

    On premise or Cloud?

    Looking for thoughts and advice.

  • Ashish,

These are too broad questions to be able to answer on a forum, especially the cloud vs on-premises discussion. A lot depends on your business requirements and design.

In general, cloud seems to be way to go for future. especially if the cost seems justified for your numbers, and your org wants to reduce the IT maintenance work, Also Cloud version will always be the one to get updates and constant improvements. But like I said, this is a discussion that needs analysis of your special requirements.

It might be too early to say if project 2016 is stable enough, and Project Server 2016 is not even generally available yet. (early May).

  • Thanks Prasanna,

Appreciate your response and quite agree with your point.

Definitely it requires a discussion to move in this direction but to start with,I was looking for different views over this forum considering existing PS2010 setup using most of OOB features and a small customization on RDB extension.
