    I just want to boot the pc and go directly to the desktop page, why is this too much to ask for from MS ?

    I want to see a start button so I can look up my programs on the pc, just like windows xp vista 7 and every other version of windows!

    Right click the taskbar>properties>navigation

    I doubt since 8.1 RTM is out, that MS will change anything substantive on the start button front.
