Installing SSRS Reporting Services Add-In RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello;

    I am trying to setup SSRS in sharepoint integrated mode.

    When you install the Reporting Services add in you are told to install it on each WFE in your farm. I have indeed done this with no issues. I have 2 WFE servers and 1 applications server. I did not install it on the applications server

    However my CA site is hosted on my Applications Server. Do I need to install the Reporting Services add-in to this apps server as well?

    Here is why I am asking...

    I am getting an error when I try to browse the CA site telling me that it cannot find the file for RSSharepointSoapProxy. it is looking for a folder called _vti_bin/ReportServer which gets installed by the add-in. I see it on the web sites for the WFE but the CA site on apps doesn't have it..

    Thank you for any helpful replies.. Aplogize in advance if I am in the wrong forum..

  • Yes, you will need to install the add-in on your application server. This should resolve the error you are seeing.

  • Hello;

    Yes thank you that seems to have solved the issue.

    For anyone else who may mis-interpret the instructions..

    You must install the Reporting Services Add in on ANY server running IIS.

    In my case I installed the Add in to these servers:

    2 Web Front Ends (hosting multiple sharepoint sites)

    1 Apps Server (hosting CA)

    thanks again!
