msexchangeis 9786 event RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm getting this odd event on one mail database every fifteen minutes -

    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: MSExchangeIS
    Event Category: Database Storage Engine
    Event ID: 9786
    Date:  3/31/2009
    Time:  8:00:35 AM
    User:  N/A
    Computer: (servername)
The database engine has consumed 68% of the "cursors" resource (29067 used out of a maximum of 42600) for storage group '03 Sales Force 1'.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
    0000: 46 55 43 42               FUCB

Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't seem to have any information on this event that I can find. A Google search turned up a bunch of nothing also. I've checked the db size against comparable databases and there isn't anything unusual. I have eleven storage groups, each with one maildb and this is the only one displaying the error.

    Has anyone seen this before?

  • Hi,

The possible cause of this issue would be logical corruption in the database. We can run eseutil /g command to verify whether an Exchange Server database contains specific inconsistencies such as bad pages, inconsistent data, flipped bits, missing data, or other issues that could appear in a database.

If yes, then we can use ISINTEG command (ISINTEG -s -fix -test alltests) on the mailbox store to fix the problem or just move all the users to another mailbox store.

Besides, we can run ExBPA to have a health scan.

More information to share with you:
