  • Hi everyone, hop this is the best forum for this question.  I am in need to find information on Microsoft's Encrypting File System and if it is FIPS 140-2 "certified"  Any help would be appreciated.

  • I see the policy "Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and signing" but can someone point me to the ceritification that Microsoft holds from NIST to confirm it is certified.

    You can find more information about how Microsoft products and cryptographic modules comply with the U.S. Federal government standard, Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140 in the link below.

    Pay attention to that FIPS 140 standard is maintained by US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
