Specify backup location credentials RRS feed

  • Question

  • Guys,

    Can you specify the share username and password for client backups via MDT?

    These are my rules:

    BackupShare=\\NAS\clientbackup$\
    BackupFile=%OSDComputerName%.wim
    BackupDir=7DaysRetention
    BackupDrive=C:
    ComputerBackupLocation=NETWORK

    the backup target is not domain joined... is it possible to get around this?

    Thanks,

    Alex.

  • Bump :)

    The credentials for the Deployment share and backup share will be different, I guess I'd need to map a drive and then having the BackDir to this location? If that's the case, what creds by default would it use?

    You should be able to by specifying a local username and password for that machine. What you would need to do is map that folder to a drive letter using "net use" and specify the user  name and password in that command. Then disconnect the mapped drive when done. IE: net use drivePath password /user:username /persistent:no
