    Hi everyone,

    I have trouble to activate office 2010 beta pro plus on Windows 7 pro RTM. The first install was fine (activation too) and I got an activation screen recently (one month after installation). The wizard process go to the end but I always get the same screen asking for an activation when I restart an office application.

    I did the usually steps as below :

    Ahh, I see.  We do not support activation via an authenticated proxy.  For the final product, you would have to activate over the phone.

    For now, what you could do is use VAMT 2.0:

    Run this on your computer, and right click Office 2010.  Select Activate --> Proxy activate.  Don't check any checkboxes, and under Actions, select Save List... This will save a CIL file.  Please send the CIL file to ted_msft@hotmail.com.  I'll essentially do proxy activation for you, and when I send the CIL file back to you, you can then import it, and you should be activated (or you could do this yourself by installing VAMT on another computer that has direct access to the Internet).

    Everything looks OK, but it looks like the contact with the activation server is having problems.  Are you using an authenticated proxy to access the Internet?

    Yes there is an authenticated proxy and it is registered in IE.  There is a dialog box at the first IE start asking for login and password (even if we activate the "save" check box).

    When I enter the MAK key-- in any of the three options-- it says "This is not a valid Office Product Key.  See above examples to learn more."

    What am I doing wrong??

    Hi Andywymore:

    I am new and have to write something first before I address your issue so forgive me. I have been involved with many BETA tests and when I was asked by Microsoft I was excited. I became ill that ended me up in the hospital with dehydration, as I have no colon or rectum. I came out of the hospital with MRSA and now have a UTI or Urinary Tract Infection. These are the reasons I have been unable to write in the forum. I am also involved with Norton and if you know Tim or Tony they will state the same. I didn't know how to write anyone so I guess I have to tell everyone, sorry Andy.

    When I opened it up I received the same message so I followed the link to the beta site and chose the correct one and copied and pasted the new MAK number in word. After which it said close all and re-open to register online. When I came back it said I needed to do everything again. Okay, so maybe I did something wrong too. So second time everything again except this time it registered correctly probably a bug in the script, above me. Remember each time going to help and placing the MAK number and following to register.

    Re-opened the program again and shazzam it worked. I hope that helps Andy and again I apologize using you to notify Ted who is obviously working crazy with all this.

    What product did you install?  If you go to File tab | Help, does it say Professional or Professional Plus?

    Could you please run ospp.vbs and paste the output (like the first post here above)?  I'd like to see the error codes that it returns.

    Open an elevated command prompt

    a.       Note the long dash may have to be changed to a short dash

    b.      The path below is the default install path, so it may be different if you've customized your install

    c.       If you’re using 32b Office on a 64b OS, you may need to run it from the “Program Files (x86)” folder

    d.      Start, search for ‘cmd’, right click on the command prompt window and select “Run as administrator”

    e.      cscript "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" -dstatus

    2)      Enter the MAK key

    a.       cscript "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" -inpkey:<the MAK key>

    b.      Include the dashes in the product key

    3)      Trigger activation

    a.       Launching an Office application will then prompt you for activation via the UI.  Alternatively you can trigger it using this command:

    b.      cscript "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" -act

    4)      Check the status

    a.       The following command will show the licensing status.  Alternatively in the Office UI you can view the status by clicking File, Help.

    b.      cscript "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" -dstatus

    Great to hear!

    Note for the ospp.vbs command I think you're missing a double-quote.  It should be:

    ospp.vbs" -dstatus
