WSUS: No updates for Windows Server 2016 (1607) since June 2018?

Question
-
Hi,
it is very strange...
We have many Windows Server 2016 (1607) in our infrastructure.
WSUS provides the Windows Updates incl. Windows Server 2016 (1607). Since June 2018, Windows Server 2016 (1607) gets no updates any more from WSUS, although our WSUS servers provided these updates to all servers.
If we check menually usinf "wuauclt /detectnow", the server says Windows is up-to-date.
What is the issue here? Ist it a 1607 problem?
Best regards

Check this for troubleshooting:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4457131/windows-10-update-kb4457131
"Prerequisite: The servicing stack update (SSU) (KB4132216) must be installed before installing the latest cumulative update (LCU) (KB4457131). The LCU will not be reported as applicable until the SSU is installed."

Hello,
It would be helpful if you could provide some more details for troubleshoot.
Do your clients report their status correctly? And when do your clients report their status last time?
Could they get updates from WU directly?
Best Regards,
Ray

Hello,
Have you tried downloading updates from catalog and installing them manually? Does it work?
Refer to update history to download the updates for server 2016 and also check if they are synchronized to the WSUS.
Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi Ray,
>>> Do your clients report their status correctly? And when do your clients report their status last time?
yes, the clients report the status correctly. The last update checks is today.
If we run manually check of updates, the systems tells all is up-to-date.
>> Could they get updates from WU directly?
Only our internal WSUS servers have connection to Microsoft WU servers, not the clients.

Hi Rolf,
ok, you are right.
The servicing stack update (SSU) (KB4132216) which we do not approve in WSUS is the reason why other cumulative updates are not downloaded to the WSUS clients.
I installed it on a test server. Then I could get other updates on this WSUS client.
Thank you.
Best regards
Birdal
