Silent Install Skype For Business 2016 and automatically remove Lync 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was able to silently install Skype For Business, but it leaves behind Lync 2010 which then has to be removed separately or the user will have 2 clients installed after SFB installs.

Is there any automatic installation option for SFB 2016 that automatically removes any older Lync clients on the system?

  • Hi MyGposts,

Base on my understanding ,there maybe not an option that automatically removes any older Lync clients on the system for SFB 2016 silently installation.

For your concern, you could uninstall Lync 2010 client manually:

1.Log on to your computer as a member of the Administrators group.

2.Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Programs and Features.

    3.lick Microsoft Lync 2010.

4.Click Uninstall at the top of the window.

Also you can uninstall it by script to uninstall Lync 2010 client silently.
