DPM 2016 Cleaning Tape with Powershell RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    We use vor oure Tapelibrery from Dell TL2000 a powershell script a long time. Now we have some trouble with the the Tapedrive and now I see, the Powershell is working fine but the Cleaning Task never run.

    The Cleaning File looks like this:

    $DPMLib=Get-DPMLibrary-DPMServerNamebfu44

    $td=Get-TapeDrive-DPMLibrary$DPMLib

    $td1=$td|Where-Object{$_.name -like"*10WT108398*"}

    $td2=$td|Where-Object{$_.name -like"*10WT110531*"}

    Start-DPMTapeDriveCleaning-TapeDrive$td1

    Start-Sleep-s600

    Start-DPMTapeDriveCleaning-TapeDrive$td2

    I tried simpler Script but this is not the Problem. Powershell show me Drivecleaning as Scheduled.

    But nothing is working.

    Any Idea?

    Best Regards

  • What is the error that is showing?

    You also need to put spaces between everything.

    For example:

    $DPMLib= Get-DPMLibrary-DPMServerName "bfu44"

    A space between DPMServerName and bfu44.

    This is also for behind -like, -TapeDrive. For example: Start-Sleep -s 600

    A variable can be done without quotes but for servernames please use double quotes "servername" for Powershell to know it is a string.
