checking for windows update forever during driver installation RRS feed

  • on my windows 7 machine, when i plug my mouse in (or any usb device) on one of my devices, i get this message which lasts forever. clicking on "skip" does nothing neither, it just seems to freeze

    the exact same mouse works fine on my other windows machine

    i wanted to attach a screenshot but it says my account is unverified or something so here's a link

  • Can you manually install drivers for mouse ?

  • no, i don't have cd for every usb mouse i plug in. it just works on my other windows 7 computer

    My point is, manually  installing the drivers and checking in case there are any errors etc. 

    Drivers can be downloaded from manufacturers website/
