SharePoint Network Error (dns_unresolved-hostname) RRS feed

• Question

• Hi,

After I set up a farm I am not able to go to the site central admin at all. However, when I tried to reach central admin on a different machine it comes up. But not on the actual server where the farm is configured. I get the following error:

Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname)

Your requested host "mymossfarm" could not be resolved by DNS.

Can someone please help me with this?

Stan

• Can you do the following?

• Add a host entry on the server. C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

127.0.0.1 central administration site.

• Disable loop back.
• Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK
• In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
• Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. (In Win 2008, its DWORD 32bit)
• Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER.
• Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify.
• In the Value data box, type 1 and then click OK. Quit Registry Editor.
• You may need to restart your server.
