Unable to get IP address after install SP3 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Installed Windows XP SP3 and now cannot connect to internet.  example errors:  Unable to contact IP driver, error code 2.  FYI: Windows CDs are missing.

    IPCONFIG returns An internal error occurred:  The request is not supported.  Contact support. Additional information:  Unable to query host name.

    I would start updating the NIC card driver. Once done, check results.

  • Just have a look at device manager to see which drivers are missing. Best way for installing them is from the included support discs, Windows XP installation directory or downloaded by internet.
