    Advantage of VmWare

    1) Good performance

    2) High feature

    3) Easy to maintain

    4) Good for multi OS

    Advantage of Hyper-V

    1) Low cost

    2) Good for only window platform OS

    3) High new features & new for the maintenance.

    4) Very excellent for SQL Server

  • The answer to this question is "it depends".  They both have pros and cons depending on your business requirements.

The main limitation in my mind is HyperV only supports 4 CPUs in any virtual server.   This may or may not be an issue for your application.
