IE10 favorites per GPO RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

we have an Server 2008R2 DC and Windows 8 Enterprise clients.

I need to distribute favorites for IE10 and the IE maintenance GPO doesn't exist anymore with IE10...

I've tried to install a IEAK10 configuration package via GPO, but the msi package doesn't work really well. (already without using group policy)

How can i distribute and manage favorites for IE10 on Windows 8 Clients (best practice)?

    Thanks
    David

  • You can do this by using Group Policy Preferences:

    Computer/User configuration>Preferences>Windows Settings>Shortcuts: new shortcut

    Name: Name of favorite

    Target Type: URL

    Location:

    - Explorer Links (IE favorites bar)

    - Explorer Favorites (IE favorites)

Target URL: Link of the favorite

  • Thanks for the answer! But it's not really practical, because you have to create for every URL a new shortcut. Is there any other way?

Same questions from my side, would be great to have this feature back, any hints why this has been dropped?

    regards

I tried exactly this in by lab, and it doesn´t work. I don´t see any favorites. I made sure the settings enheritated property by using rsop. Are you sure this is 100% correct method?
