Exchange 2010 Journaling RRS feed

  • Question

  • We created a windows account called journaling, then created it a mailbox then went on the database and select that account for journaling.

Journaling is now working properly. Now we are trying to figure out a way that we can create a journal rule where if someone does not want a message to be journaled the can put in the subnet line Do not journal and the message would not be journaled.

Is there a way you can create a journal rule that say if a message contains Do not journal in the email subject line or body, it will not journal the message? If so how do you accomplish this.

No, i don't think you can do this. Since you have set the journal rule, all message will be journaled. Transport rule can't help you, so you can't  depend on these words to stop journaling.

    hope can help you

  • Only if you didnt use journaling rules and perhaps used transport rules instead - which isnt quite the same.

Kinda defeats the intent of journaling however if you can bypass it though doesnt it?

Nice cover for insider trading, cooking the books, sexual harassment,
and all manner of nefarious schemes I'd say! What next, anonymous
    e-mail?
