Information Store service crashing at startup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have an Exchange 2007 server running on Server 2003 R2 x64. Every time I reboot the server the Information Store crashes. There is an entry in the event log that simply states "service terminated unexpectedly". I have run the BPA but it did not find any issues. Both Windows and Exchange are up to date with patches and service packs. Please advise how to troubleshoot further.

I am able to start the Info Store manually and it works fine.

  • Hi Rsutton,

I had same issue with Exch 2007 before. Please try the steps below:

Note: Before editing the registry its recommended to review:

    1.  Click on "Start Menu", "Run" and Enter "Regedt32".

    2. Expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS".

    3. On the Right Pane, Double Click "DependOnService".

    4. At the end of the Value Data, type "MSExchangeADTopology".

    5. Close Registry Editor.

    6. Reboot the Server.

  • Are you running SP3 for Exchange?

Try setting the IS to Auto Delay? What happen when that is set?

Have your tried to run eseutil /mh on your DB to see if any DB are corrupted?
