Client deployment on XP computers failing, MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup install fails.

Question

Hi,
I'm having a issue on a number of XP computers when deploying a sccm client to them.
MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup install fails. I've tried installing it manually but nothing works.
This is the error message:
"Failed to install 'C:\WINDOWS\ccmsetup\MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup.msi' with retry-able error code 0x80070652. Retried with max count 2."
I haven't found any solutions to this yet, but maybe my google'ing powers arn't good enough so any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you checked this discussion: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/is/configmanagerdeployment/thread/2d236981-94a1-4a74-8554-59a608b287fa ?
Is there anything else in your ccmsetup.log file?

I installed the windows installer and I now have a new error, though MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup.msi is still the problem.
The errors are:
"MSI: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
"File C:\WINDOWS\ccmsetup\MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup.msi installation failed. Error text: ExitCode: 1603
Action: DeleteAuthorityStoreDirectory_InstallRollback.GetProgress.
ErrorMessages:
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."Any ideas what might be causing this?
