Create GPO in different sites

    Question

  • The DC with FSMO is in site A, there is another DC in site B. If I login the DC in site B and create a GPO in domain level. Will it be deployed to the computers/users in site B at first?

Answers

  • Yes,

default replication time between sites is 180 minutes, after this time will be GPO replicated from your site B to your site A.

Citation from the article Understanding Group Policy Replication:

When a GPO is edited in the Group Policy Management Editor (GPME), the domain controller running the PDC Emulator role is used by default. Therefore, all replication will stem from this domain controller. If a different domain controller is selected, as can be done from the GPMC (see Figure 3), the replication will stem from that domain controller.
