Only about half of our servers are showing in WSUS 2016

Question

Hello,
I have an OU with our development servers in it and a GPO for WSUS (2016) linked to it. The OU has about 50 servers in it, but WSUS only has about 15 of these servers imported and I don't know why, it's been like that for a couple of weeks. I use target option to put the servers in a meaningful folder on WSUS
Log from one from the servers, can you see a possible issue?

Hi TB303,
1. On the clients not show up in the WSUS console, please check if the GPO is applied correctly, we may check related registry keys in HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate;
2. If you enable client side targeting, please check if the group name configures in GPO is the same with that in WSUS server. Also check if the WSUS server is configured with the following things:
3. If the above settings are all correct, while clients still show up in the WSUS console, please reset SUSClientID on these clients:
1). In cmd, net stop wuauserv
2). Delete the value in registry key " SusClientId " and "SusClientIDValidation" locates in:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate
3). In cmd, net start wuauserv
wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnowAfter that, restart the clients, check if they will show up in WSUS server later.
Best Regards,
Anne

Hello,
Just did all the above and this particular server hasn't showed up get, it's only been 30mins.
How long should we give it?
Friday, May 26, 2017 1:32 PM -
Ah - that did it.
Now I need to work out how to do this for 200 more servers via a script :/
Friday, May 26, 2017 2:01 PM -
This seems to work:
@ECHO OFF
net stop wuauserv
timeout 10
REG DELETE "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v "SusClientId" /f
REG DELETE "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v "SusClientIDValidation" /f
net start wuauserv
timeout 5
