retention for persistent chat history RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is the default value for retention for persistent chat history?

Will it auto purse the old data?

And how can we set it?

  • Hi Kenneth,

In Default chat history, define the number of chat messages that will be processed for each room upon first request. By default, the number is 30. This is the global default, and administrators can disable chat history per category.

  • Hi Muralidharan,

The Default chat history is only for first request. but they can scoll up to look easiler message.

So how oldest message they can see in the chat room? and where can I set it?

Also where can I export it?

I found the export-CsPersistentChatData, can export all chat room message for history data, but how can I only export 1 chatroom, I can filter by category.

And all the chat message is in

    [mgc].[dbo].[Exp_ChatView]

You need to fine the Room ID in NodeView first

    SELECT nodeDbId FROM [mgc].[dbo].[Exp_NodeView]

select date,  prinDisplayName ,Content from Exp_ChatView, tblPrincipal where channelDbId='Room ID' and userId=prinGuid

Then u can export to txt or excel
