Sharepoint 2007 Migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
We are planing to use office 365 E1 and need to migrate all on premises services to there.
    1- On premises Exchange 2010
    2- Intermedia hosted exchange 2010
3- On premises SharePoint 2007 with info path forms and Nintex 2007 workflows application.
Is it applicable to perform the a/m migration?
I would greatly appreciate your reply.

  • Many thanks.

I have checked on some posts and found that SharePoint needs Exchange to be installed on same network.

  • This isn't quite the right forum for this query really, office 365 is the 2013 version.

There are a couple of challenges in that setup, Nintex and 2007. I know that Nintex have a solution on the SharePoint Apps store and I'm confident that it works with 365, however migrating your workflows from 2007 to 2013 will probably need some assistance/guidance. I'd contact your Nintex account manager and ask what they advise on that.

For migrating the rest of the site you will want to look at a 3rd party solution. 2007 to 2013 either has to be done as a 'double hop' approach, stopping off at 2010 before upgrading, which would probably require purchasing a 2010 server license, or using a 3rd party tool. I haven't used any of them for 2013 yet but i've used Metavis before and it worked fairly well.

  • Thanks a lot for your reply.

Do you have any idea about if I can use my on premises SharePoint 2007 with office 365 Exchange online so I can continue using it instead of the headache of the migration.

Also, do I can use info path forms on SharePoint 365?

  • I'm far from an expert on Exchange in the cloud but I believe it should be possible.

Infopath forms were alive and well in the cloud the last i heard: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/datacenter/get-infopath-forms-and-sharepoint-online-with-office-365/5414 but i'll admit that i'm not up to speed on the 2013 version. Hopefully someone else will wander along who is.
