Project Server 2013 multiple task approval RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

By default, a project task can be only approved by the status manager. I would like to know whether can I configure the task to be approved multiple times. For example, after user A submit the update for task A, Team Lead can approve or reject it. If Team Lead approve it, PM will see this task in the approval page and approve or reject it at the final level. If team Lead reject it, PM won't see this update. Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Anna

  • Hi Anna,

Unfortunately there is only one task update approval in the approval chain. The other approval will be for the complete timesheet.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Anna,

What you can try to do is to disconnect timesheets and task updates and have the team members submit their timesheets for approval (in the timesheet approval you can have a chain of approvals where the initial approvers will just accept the timesheet and the last approver will do the final approval). Once the timesheet approved then the team lead will import manually the timesheets (the team lead can be defined as the assignment owner for the team members) and submit the updates to the project manager (maybe a little bit of customization will help with the automation of the last part, if needed)

    Hope this helps
