Maximum # of Boundaries in a Site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a client with 90k computers distributed across 4k geographic location. The resultant design will have to home ~7k (7,000) boundaries and 2,000 boundary groups on each of two primary sites for a total of 14k boundaries and 4k boundary groups.

I can't find anything published on this so I need validation that this will or will not work okay and if not what the maximums are for boundaries and boundary groups per site.

Each site consists of a Primary Site Server with three site systems and no secondary sites. We are using a CAS.

    Thanks,

  • I've never seen a published list of a max number of boundaries.

I am curious though... Why would you have 3x the number of locations as boudaries?

Does each location have a DP?

  • Hi John,

Yep- you guessed it. Each of the 4k locations has its own DP and each site has around three subnets on average. The subnets are not contiguous so we can't combine them.

Any advice as to where I should head from here for a resolution?

    Thanks,

  • That's crazy. LOL

You should be able to call CSS or ask your TAM for an advisory call. I think you will be fine though.

  • BTW.... Long term I'd personally look at getting Nomad to make this much easier.
