Creating Custom Fields that can be used in formulae for other custom fields RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all.

    Trying to do the following:

Create graphical indicator on Project Center Summary View.

To start simply, I have created 2 custom number fields - [Budgeted Hrs] and [Actual Hrs] - they will come from an external system.

I want to create a simple graphical traffic light as follows, (ignore syntax just look at logic):

IF [Budgeted Hrs] = 0 or Null then "RED" and stop calculating ELSE

IF [Actual Hrs] = 0 or Null then "GREEN" and stop calculating ELSE

IF [Actual Hrs] > [Budgeted Hrs] then "RED" and stop calculating ELSE

IF [Actual Hrs] > ([Budgeted Hrs] * 0.8) then "AMBER" and stop calculating ELSE

IF [Actual Hrs] < [Budgeted Hrs] then "GREEN" and stop calculating

I just can't seem to be able to see and select my custom fields in the Pick Field list

  • Hi BodgitNZ,

Did you try inserting the custom field into the formula by [Custom Field], instead of selecting it from the "Pick Field List", please try the same, it works for me.

Only OOTB (out of the Box) fields will shown in the "Pick field List"
