Desktop Sharing between internal SkypefB client and external SkypefB client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

If we have a peer to peer meeting, internal user share screen with external user. They both use SkypefB client or Lync 2013 client.

Is the Edge server used for this? Or is the Edge only used for skypeFB Conference..(3 users or more?

Do we only have to open sharing ports(spec by Microsoft)for the Edge server or do we also have to open sharing ports to the internal client also?

We have a problem with desktop sharing between 2 users. 1 internal and 1 external. If we are 3 users in same meeting it works ok. Or if the external user is using the web client it also works ok. It looks like the firewall blocks the desktop sharing for the client IP, the sharing port are open for the edge server.

    On-prem servers SkypefB

    Best regards
    Mikael

  • check TCP 443 and udp 3478 for AV public IP address is open from firewall.

also be sure that the IP add of AV has to open for outgoing.

also you need to be sure that you have one-one static NAT.

    also check below.

    STUN/MSTURN

    TCP

    443

    Any

    Edge Server internal interface

Fallback path for A/V media transfer between your internal and external users and your Survivable Branch Appliance or Survivable Branch Server, if UDP communication doesn't work. TCP is then used for file transfers and desktop sharing.

  • Hi,

When a peer to peer call share desktop, it will not escalate to a SFB meeting.

Please also check TCP\UDP 50,000-59,999 open for Edge AV service.

Also check if enable the application and proxy filtering on the firewall for traffic destine to the Lync Edge servers, if yes, disable it and then test again.

    Best Regards
