ssl certificate on adfs 4.0 windows 2016 server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since I will be using a third-party generated certificate and since there doesn't seem to be an IIS component to adfs on windows 2016, What tool should I use to generate a ssl certificate for adfs 4.0 on windows 2016?

    thanks

  • You can use the good old certreq.exe for this. But just ask to your TLS certificate provider, most of them provide a GUI tool to generate the request.

  • Agree with Pierre now most of the Cert providers come up with GUI that is easy to fill and generate. You can use that as well.

  • Hi,

In theory you can generate the certificate from any server you like. As long as you keep track of the private key and install that on the ADFS 4.0 server whenever you have the CSR completed.
