Alt key + context menu doesn't work RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a problem regarding the context menu:

Normally, if I press ALT and right click on any file in the explorer, I get a context menu with special options like "Copy path".
For a few days now, if I want to call the special context menu, the menu flashes up and closes instantly, so that I can't read the options displayed.

Does anybody know what this might be?
I tried to install tools like copy path, but they didn't work on Windows 7. But I think the tool damaged my context menu although I uninstalled it...

Is there any error log which shows which command forced the menu to close?

    Best regards,

    Dirk

Answers

  • You are using the wrong shortcut key, Press & Hold Shift Key (not the ALT key ) followed by right clicking on the file to get the Copy Path option in the Context menu.

    Hope that solves your problem.
