Question about permissions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have this badly written app that runs fine on Windows 7 (32-bit) accept for one detail: when performing a certain action it tries to write a couple of files in the root of the system drive. Normal users don't have permissions to do this, so this particular action fails, both natively as well as using a sequenced version.

The created files are only present if you perform this action, so they are not included in the package. They are random filenames so it's no use adding it to the package. Will unchecking "Enforce Security Descriptors" still solve this? If not, is there any way I can make App-V catch this attempt to write in the root of C and have it create the files somewhere else, transparently to the application?

    Thanks,

    Vincent
