Laptop overheat after upgrading to windows 8 RRS feed

  • i have a laptop ASUS A45VM , 8GB RAM, COREI7 PROCESSOR, nvidia GT 630, AFTER UPGRADING TO WINDOWS 8 PRO, MY LAPTOP STARTED TO OVERHEAT, how to cool it donw and why this will happen?

  • I suggest to update BIOS and Chipset also. And check all drivers if compatible with Windows 8.

    If the issue persists, you can also try to logon with Safe Mode to see the result.

    What OS did you upgrade from?

    Did you do a clean install?

    What temps does it get to under load?

    Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:


    Click Start Menu
    Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
    Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
    Expand Custom Views
    Click Administrative Events
    Right click Administrative Events
    Save all Events in Custom View As...
    Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
    Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
    Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
    Upload the .zip file here (if you can) to skydrive or a file sharing service
