Lync Client music on hold playback starts garbled then clears after half a second... RRS feed

  • Having a great experience with Lync. Using communicator on Windows 7 x64. Music on hold play always starts garbled before clearing up and playing clearly. Is this a logjam on the client side or is codec processing happening on lync server?

  • You may try it with firewall temporarily disabled on client.

  • Sounds like a performance issue on the client while loading the music-on-hold file.

    Did you try on multiple machines? Is this a recent computer or minimal specifications?

  • Well, disabled the firewall and no change. I have not tried the music on hold on other machines yet, but the one I am using is an engineering workstation, 12 gigs ram, Xeon dual core... but all the same it sounds like a performance issue. I think I will try using a different disk for the music file and see if it is an access issue.
