Exchange 2013 CU9- Need to upgrade to CU23. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi - I'm at CU9 in a DAG environment at the moment and need to upgrade to the latest. Can I go directly to CU23?

Also I read that any custom xml's would need to be backed up. How would I know which xml's were changed?

Anything else I would have to watch out for?

    Thank you for your help!!!

    Yes, you can:

As far as any xml/ web config customization, the expectation is that you documented that if any were done :)

If you are upgrading Exchange Server from an unsupported CU to the current CU and no intermediate CUs are available, you should first upgrade to the latest version of .NET that's supported by your version of Exchange Server and then immediately upgrade to the current CU. This method doesn't replace the need to keep your Exchange servers up to date and on the latest supported CU. Microsoft makes no claim that an upgrade failure will not occur using this method, which may result in the need to contact Microsoft Support Services.

  • Andy - Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have any notes for the changes in the XML's because a 3rd party did the config. Do you what would be the most common xml's what would be changed in a basic EX13 setup?

    Thanks

Probably none actually. There are no typical ones that would be changed, but I suspect it wont be an issue for you. Honestly, I wouldnt really worry about that piece of it. Its more critical to get that thing updated to the latest CU and security patch
