An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am NOT an IT person, but have MS office pro plus 2010.  I am using an outlook.com email address, and it was working fine in my Office mail program.  I recently rebooted my windows 7 starter netbook, and reloaded the office suite, and the hotmail/livemail connector.  When I go to start the MS outlook, and configure the account, it says "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available".  I cannot find my imap server settings to manually configure, and maybe I shouldn't from what I've seen.  I can access the account on the web fine.  Help!

  • If it's an Office 365 account you can check, in the outlook web app, under "Options" and "settings". There should be a link on that page for your POP, IMAP, and SMTP servers.
