    Hello Friends,

    I am using App-v 4.5.1308 on 2003 server and clients installed on WinXP SP2.

    I found this strange thing today. I have added a new user to an existing application group. When this user refreshes his client, the shortcut appears immediatly.

    However, when the user tries to launch the shortcut, he gets an error as below.

    {tid=9A8:usr=gkes}

    The Application Virtualization Client could not launch Microsoft Office Visio 2007 12.0.

    The Application Virtualization Client could not stream data required to perform the requested operation. Ensure that you can connect to the Application Virtualization Server, and then retry the operation. If the problem persists, report the following error code to your System Administrator.

    Error code: 450519-1690150A-20000193

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The virtual application 'Microsoft Office Visio 2007 12.0' failed to launch for user gkeswith error 450519-1690150A-20000193.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    {hap=D:app=Microsoft Office Visio 2007 12.0:tid=F5C:usr=gkes}

    The Application Virtualization Client could not connect to stream URL 'rtsp://sgserver:554/VisioStd-2007-GBL-R1/VisioStd-2007-GBL-R1.sft' (rc 1690150A-20000193, original rc 1690150A-20000193).

    {hap=D:app=Microsoft Office Visio 2007 12.0:tid=F5C:usr=gkes}

    The client was unable to connect to an Application Virtualization Server (rc 1690150A-20000193)

    But, when this user Logsoff and login, every thing works fine. This happens every time a new application is published to new user and gets solved my user restarts. The user is only a STANDARD USER.

    Is it mandatory for the user to log in and log off each time  a new application is installed? Or is this some kind of bug?

    Also, already check the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930617. Every thing looks to be fine. I am assuming that the group membership SID's are being refreshed only when user signs off and Log in again.

    Please advice.

  • Hi,

    This is actually a strange behaviour which I never encountered. As you mentioned, with 4.5 the default authentication uses Kerberos, so users need to log off and log in to refresh their Kerberos ticket.

    But the applications should not be published if they SIDs are not refreshed.

    How did you implement the publishing? Via HTTP or UNC? Do you set NTFS ACLs on the content folders?

  • We are using RTP for now.

    I am using the same SOFTGRID USER GROUP with Read permission on Content Folder.

    What do you mean by HTTP publishing?

    Thanks
