Error Message Appears After Startup RRS feed

  • After start up & before I log onto Windows I get a pop up that says GoogleUpdate.exe - Bad Image & The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\mstask.dll is not avalid Windows image.  Please check this against you installation diskette

    I'm running XP.  And when I try to Defrag or run CCleaner Registry cleaner I get a blue screen with KERNEL-STACK-INPAGE-ERROR AND STOP: 0x00000077 (0xc0000185, 0xc0000185, 0x00000000, 0x0A354000)  or STOP: 0x00000077 (0xc000185, 0xc0000185, 0x00000000, 0x00B7500)  I appreciate all help.

    According to my knowledge,Possibility of malware - attach is there.

    I recommend you to run an advanced malware scan. and to perform necessary disk checks and de fragments as well.

    uncheck the Enable caching check box inside the HDD -->properties-->hardware-->policies.

  • Try to check your harddisk health, maybe your system drive is corrupt

  • Run a hard drive error checking scan by "right clicking" the mouse on your C: drive (open "My Computer" and you will see the list of drives A:\ C:\ D:\ etc.) and then click on "Properties".  You will then see the screen below, make sure to put a check mark in both boxes to fix system errors and bad sectors.  Click OK and reboot.
