  • Can you be more specific?  Are you planning to create multiple databases, and then allocate sites into the databases via a round robin approach?  (Which wouldn't work as generally PWA is in a single site collection.)

    What are the size issues you're trying to address?

  • ditto on being more specific.

    If however, you are referring to splitting up project server content data (as in SharePoint workspaces) then you can do this in SharePoint Central Admin.  There is a database associated with site collections and web applications.
