Cannot Access https website on TLS 1.1 and 1.2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

From last 3 -4 months I have hard time accessing https website, out of 10 times , the site gets loaded only once that too partially.

If I disable TLS 1.1 and 1.2 in browser Edge , the sites seems to work perfectly fine with some warning . but my system is open to threats since TLS 1.0 has security issues

In chrome it gives error "ssl bad record mac" tried to set the min SSL to TLS 1.0 (through cmd)  but this does not seem to work in chrome ver > 54 . Heard chrome uses its own SSL implementation, boringSSL

    System config

Windows 10 ver 1507, Intel Core 3, No Firewall, No Antivirus

Would appreciate if you guys can share you suggestion on this.

  • What version (i.e. Home, Pro, Enterprise etc) are you running, only 1507 is the first release of Windows 10 from July 2015 been several major upgrades since then. The old version might be causing the issues.

Can you post the url or any sites you are having problems with so others can test?

  • If this site is loadbalanced between two or more servers, then it makes sense to have this behavior and it means that one of them does not have TLS 1.2 configured or .NET Fw is not configured.

This is a good guide on all that needs to be configured.

  • Hi,

The latest build is Windows 10 1703. This version fix many issue. It's recommend you update to this build.

In addition, how did you disable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 in the Microsoft Edge browser?

What if you use Internet Explorer?
