Windows Mail incoming messages disconnect Broadband connection RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2 on a Targa P.C., with 32-bit Operating System.

When I check for new mail, the first 2 to 5 messages come through as normal. Then, the Internet connection, via a Broadband line is disrupted and the connection is lost. This only happens with incoming email messages and never with any other internet usage. Once I click on "Connect to Network" and the connection has been restored, messages come through as normal. If there is then no mail activity for a period, the same thing happens again.

I am using the full version of AVG virus protection, with AVG Firewall enabled and Windows Firewall disabled (I think).

  • Hi,

The box "disconnect after conclusion" from Windows Mail should be unchecked.

To troubleshoot the issue, disable AVG and check the result.

Windows Firewall may have conflict with AVG, make sure it is disabled.
