My hard disk space surely must be artificially limited (HP Compaq 610 with Windows XP) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. I have an HP Compaq 610, with Windows XP. My C Disk has 32GB's worth of space, and my D Disk has 10GB. I bought the laptop 2 years ago, so surely this amount of storage space is false?

  • What tool are you using to arrive at those figures?  Are they total capacity or free space?  Do you really have two separate disks or are they partitions of a single disk?  Are there any other partitions or unallocated space on your disk(s)?  What is the file system on each disk?
