Override advanced settings on survey RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Survey in SharePoint 2007 with the advanced setting set to Read Access: Only their own, Edit Access: only their own.

What I then want to do is give individuals contribute to individual item (to allow a submitter's manager to edit a entry).  When i set these permissions and send the email, they get the error:

No item exists at http://site/deptinfo/Lists/survey/DispForm.aspx?ID=2.  It may have been deleted or renamed by another user.

    is what I require possible?

    cheers

  • I think if you abandon using the built-in Read Access settings, then you can manipulate the permissions manually, or automate using an SPD Workflow.

We have a routine where when a doc is uploaded, contribute rights are granted to a group, based on one of the MetaData settings.  I suppose you could react based on an answer to a question.
