Showing Vacation/Off-time in Gantt Chart View - Project Professional 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am using MSPP 2010.

Is there a way to show Vacation and off-time of resources in Gantt-Chart view in the form of bars? For instance a resource is assigned to a task from 10-Sep to 20-Sep which shows a bar in Gantt Chart in normal way. Then that resource goes on vacation for a week which is setup in that resource's calendar. What I want is that this vacation should be shown as a red/grey bar in the gantt chart view as well. Then that resource is assigned another task which can be showed normally in gantt-chart. Can I accomplish this and how?

    Thanks

  • Hi Khalid,

As such this is not possible, no. Several of my customers use the workaround to NOT enter holidays in the calendar but as fixed date tasks - which then are visible in the Gantt Chart. Of course, the othr tasks are no longer automatically interrupted because of these days off: you have to use Automatic resource leveling to achieve this.
