DNS TXT record to allow both Exchange Federation and FOPE RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We currently have FOPE setup and already have a DNS TXT record named OurDomain.com. We have been recently asked to federate Exchange with our parent company. How can we edit the same TXT record to allow federation?

Thanks in advance for your time and feedback

  • You may be able to delete that.  Those records are used to create the trust but I don't believe they're needed once the trust is established.

  • Agreed.  You can have multiple TXT records for you domain.

  • Thanks Ed & Steve.

The problem is our service provider allows only one TXT file. Therefore we have to add a second entry to the existing record. Could you help with the syntax please - do you know the delimiter used to separate records?

  • That won't work.  You'll have to work this with your ISP and get them to make an exception or replace the old TXT file.  Do you still need it?

  • The old TXT is part of our FOPE configuration. :(

Thanks Ed. Really appreciate the help.
