I have a client who has several at-home employees who they want to provide virus protection for, preferably with a centralized control panel to be able to verify that the employees' computers have up to date protection, that the computers are scanning regularly
for infections, etc. These computers will obviously not be in an internal domain network; the server needs to be able to contact the clients over the internet. I've been regularly recommending security essentials for home users and would like to
be able to set up its big brother for my commercial customers with greater needs, but this one issue is a must-have deal for the customer I'm working with now.
Important to note, these remote computers are not joined to the domain. In some cases they're home versions and couldn't join the domain even if they wanted! The employees are just VPNing into the network to access shared directories, so the
server doesn't have direct GPO control over the remote workstations.
