Multiple Application Version RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an issue that requires outlook to be a specific version or newer, after running a query "Computers with a specific product" "Microsoft Office Outlook" I get systems reporting several different versions of outlook.  what is the "best" way to determine which version of an application is actually on the system.  And why am I getting so many different versions listed?

  • There might be outdated information in the client's registry (so old and no longer installed version of Outlook might still be reported although it's no longer installed). Double check that on the client.

  • Th eproblem is that the Major version is unchanged, this is from all the Minor Revision updates.  we have a standard of Office 2010 which is 14.0.XXXX.XXXX, some of my clients are reporting 3 or 4 different revisions, in my reports I will get MachineXXX listed with version 14.0.7600.000, & 14.0.7116.5000 & 14.6109.5000... I have to make sure our Outlook client is above a certain revision, but I can't even be absolute about the current revisions!
