    it's possible to use microsoft authenticator app to authenticate domain users to connect via rdp to server2012R2?

    Yes, we can use on-premises MFA to authenticate domain users to connect server via RDP.

    To achieve this, we should follow those steps:

    1.        Create Azure MFA provider (require Azure subscription)
    2.         Create/install Azure MFA server
    3.        Configure RD Gateway servers as RADIUS server
