Reset Entire Site for Anonymous Access RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there another way to reset the access permissions for a entire site and sub-sites for anoymous access than using Site Settings > Permissions > Anonymous Access in SharePoint 2007? This doesn't seem to work. Also to remove all special permissions for staff, designers, etc. and only leave the administrators?

  • Hi,

From your description, It’s right to configure Anonymous Access in this way.

As it doesn’t work for you, could you please share more information about that:

Is the site cannot  accessed by anonymous user?

If cannot, what is the error message when accessing?

Also, to remove permissions, we need to click Site Settings->Advanced Permissions, enter the Permissions page, select the permissions to be removed, click remove user permissions in the drop-down list of Actions.

    Best Regards,

  • Thanks for replying. It appears that somewhere in the various attempts and IIS/SP restarts that the anonymous access I wanted kicked in. Not sure why.

For the later part, I was looking for a way to iterate the pages and sub-sites and remove/set user permissions without all the manual activity.

    Again thanks for replying.
